“WHERE DREAMS BECOME REALITY
\nDorafal\u00f9 is the atelier where the sketches of haute couture designers first become models,
\nthen masterpiece dresses. Thanks to the passion of the founder Luisa Bernascone.<\/p>\n

Luisa Bernascone is a woman with free and unstoppable creativity, with the dream of giving her contribution to
\ninternational fashion. But she is also a professional with many years of experience as a pattern maker within
\nprestigious Italian ready-to-wear brands, who in 2004 decided to take over a small tailoring workshop near
\nMilan. And from there, as the founder tells here, the adventure of Dorafal\u00f9 begins.
\nWho is Dorafal\u00f9?
\n\u00abShe is the cylinder from which the magic of haute couture emerges. In our workshop, which today has 40 professionals
\nincluding seamstresses, pattern makers and sample makers, we translate the dreams of haute couture designers into reality, creating unique garments
\nstarting from a drawing\u00bb.
\nWhat do you like most about your job?
\n\u00abI am happy when I receive a sketch and start planning how to make it. I imagine the final effect, the construction,
\nthe movement it will have on the catwalk, I find solutions for every difficulty that may arise. That’s where creativity
\ncomes into play, the ability to transform a drawing into a model, but also the sensitivity to interact
\nwith the designer to satisfy even the highest expectations\u00bb.
\nWhat is the biggest challenge?
\n\u00abReally impossible ones happen: sometimes it’s as if we were challenging the force of gravity through invisible constructions,
\ndesigned to create surface and chiaroscuro effects, which support very light fabrics. For me, clothes are
\nsculptures in motion\u00bb.
\nWhat do you see in the future of Dorafal\u00f9?
\n\u00abWe have grown a lot in 20 years and I also like teaching the trade to young people who are starting a career
\nwithin my company. My desire to create never stops, in balance between the Italian tailoring tradition
\nand new technologies, which are of great help in simplifying some operations and allow me to have
\nmore time to dream and create new models”.”<\/p>\n
